Wild Edibles Newsletter 4-1-2013

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers!

Happy April Fool’s Day! We hope you had a great holiday weekend with your families. The market was closed this morning but we are currently getting receiving shipments that will arrive tonight.

Blue Crab is still unavailable. We received word from a few sources that they are spawning right now and fishermen are allowing the stock to resupply itself. They are also being stored so that they can molt for the upcoming Soft Shell Crab season.

Halibut from Alaska and Washington is arriving this week. Halibut season recently opened on the West Coast so shipments are coming as soon as tonight. This will give the region some more supply of Halibut while bringing down the price.

We will receive shipments from Florida. Fresh batches of 16/20 Gulf Shrimp, American Red Snapper, Golden Tile Fish, Red Grouper and Rock Shrimp.

We will receive imports tonight. Dorade, and Bronzini are coming from Greece; Wester Ross Salmon from Scotland; and Artic Char from Iceland.

Contact Wild Edibles to find out more information for this week.
