Wild Edibles Newsletter 3-7-2013

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers!

Sardines will not be coming into New York. Flights were canceled due to inclement weather. Lobster prices have also crept up due to limited supply. What has come in is very lively and looks spectacular.

Our buyer brought in Rouget this morning. These little red fish come from the Mediterranean. They are great as a substitute for the Sardines. Rouget are a perfect fish for grilling!

Cod caught in Massachusetts came in this morning. The Cod looks stunning! It has flaky white flesh that will incorporate any flavor you give it when cooked. The value on Cod has been great for the last week so contact us about acquiring some.

Black Crescent Oysters are now in stock. They are a small, shallow cupped oyster from New Brunswick, Canada. These are raised not far from our popular Beau Soliel. They even have a similar flavor with it’s nice briny liquor, and sweet flesh. They go great with Chardonnay!

Contact Wild Edibles to find out about what we are carrying for the weekend.
