Wild Edibles Newsletter 3-5-2013

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers!

Tuna #2 and Swordfish is very scarce this week with very little coming into the market. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have brought some intriguing items into our warehouse today.

We picked up Boston Mackerel, Boston Mackerel are sought after for its culinary purpose. It’s great for sashimi, preserved, or in Mediterranean cuisine. It consists mostly of red meat and has a strong desirable taste. Boston Mackerel is extremely high in vitamin B12 and omega 3, containing nearly twice as much as salmon. Boston mackerel is also very low in mercury.

Fresh Baby Octopus is available. You can prepare this the same way you would any fresh octopus. However these really make a fascinating dish for any patron. Fresh Baby Octopus isn’t always available and it’s a real treat.

Razor Clams are finally in stock. We have a nice supply so order away. Whelks are available as well. Whelks are a type of sea snail caught off of New England’s pristine coastline.

We have plenty of Halibut, Wild Striped Bass, Mahi Mahi and Tilefish available this week. Contact Wild Edibles to find out more information.
