7.31.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

Beautiful locally caught Bigeye Tuna arrived this morning.  The fish have a great color to them and are really fresh.  Massachusetts sent us some really nice Fluke.  Day boat Halibut is still coming in daily from waters off Nova Scotia.  U/10 and 10/20 Scallops from New Jersey look fantastic today.  Local Blackfish are here and weighing in between 3 and 5 pounds each.

3/4 Chilean Turbot showed up this morning as expected.  Mahi Mahi is coming in from Guatemala tonight.  These fish are head off and gutted and always great quality.  Red and Black Grouper are available.  The Red's are from Florida and the Black Grouper is coming in from Panama.  Icelandic day boat Cod couldn't be fresher today.  They weigh between 10 and 15 pounds each.  We are going to stick with these until New England Cod prices come back down to earth.

Wild King and Wild Sockeye Salmon both came in today.  The King's are from California and tend to be around 10 to 12 pounds.  The Sockeye Salmon are in from Alaska and average about 5 pounds.  Both kinds look fantastic.

7.25.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

We are finally getting a good amount of Wild Striped Bass tonight.  Massachusetts is pulling in fish that meet New York size requirements.  We should be well stocked for tomorrow.  Cape May, New Jersey sent us more U/10 and 10/20 Scallops that look lovely.  Local Tuna couldn't be fresher this morning.  Fluke may be an issue for a few days.  They aren't catching enough fish to meet demand.  Domestic east coast Oysters are a problem right now.  Neither Long Island, nor Connecticut seem to be producing anything.  Oysters from Canada are your best bet.

Beautiful Swordfish arrived this morning.  Some of the fish are from Canada, and some came our way from Ecuador.  Mahi Mahi from Guatemala is set to arrive tonight.  These fish will be head off and gutted, but we're being told they will be on the smaller side.  We are expecting our weekly Sardine shipment from Portugal tonight and they are always excellent.

Wild Salmon is still running strong.  California is sending us Wild King Salmon almost daily.  Sockeye Salmon from Alaska are in good supply as well.  Jumbo Black Sea Bass continues to look great.  The fish weigh between 3 and 5 pounds and come to us from Boston.  New England fishing grounds are currently infested with Dogfish.  This is wreaking havoc on Cod, Pollock, and Hake catches.

Florida is sending us some great stuff tonight.  We are expecting Red Grouper that weigh between 5 and 10 pounds.  We are always thrilled with these fish.  Red Snappers should be available in all sizes 2 pounds and up.  Fresh 16/20 Gulf Shrimp are on their way here again and are always fantastic.

7.24.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

Local Big Eye Tuna looks fantastic this morning.  The fish look nice and fresh and have a great color to them.  U/10 and 10/20 Scallops couldn't be fresher.  They are in from our friends down in Barnegat Bay, New Jersey.  Wild Striped Bass is a bit of an issue.  We are being told they are catching a lot of fish that are too big to legally sell in New York.  We should be getting some in; but ordering them in advance might be the smart move.

Massachusetts sent us some lovely items this morning.  Jumbo Black Sea Bass that weigh 3 to 5 pounds look great.  Jumbo Fluke is a can't miss today also.  Day boat Halibut from waters off Nova Scotia keep coming in daily and look terrific.

Wild King Salmon is in again from California.  We also brought in more Wild Sockeye Salmon from Alaska.  West Coast Oysters appear to be back on track after being shut out yesterday.  3/4 Chilean Turbot arrived as scheduled.  We also found some Panamanian Red Grouper that look very nice this morning.  They range in size from 5 to 10 pounds.  16/20 Fresh Gulf Shrimp are perfect as always.

Jumbo Spanish Mackerel are in from waters off the Carolina's.  They average about 4 pounds each.  3/4 Chilean Turbot will be available tomorrow as well.  Florida sent us lovely Golden Tilefish that average about 9 pounds.  We finally got our hands on some Mahi Mahi.  The fish are in from Panama and are already head off and gutted.

There are still production issues with All-Leg Crabmeat.  We brought in extra Lump Crabmeat from Louisiana to help cover the difference.  Fire River Oysters are coming in from New Brunswick, Canada tonight.  A few really nice items are in today from waters off the Carolina's.  6 pound Grey Tilefish look amazingly fresh.  We also tracked down some Spanish Mackerel.

Hawaiian Big Eye Tuna is on it's way here.  These fish are always excellent quality.  More East Coast Canadian day boat Halibut is in this morning.  They range in size anywhere from 10 all the way up to 40 pounds.  Wild Sockeye Salmon are still running strong out of Alaska.  It looks like there isn't going to be any Mahi Mahi or Sturgeon available for a few days.  Please keep this in mind when ordering.

7.12.13

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

It's time to stock up for the weekend.  The weather is supposed to be beautiful.  That should fill up the seats.  We are expecting to receive Wild Striped Bass from Massachusetts tonight.  This will help keep the price down and also give us a nice variety of sizes.  It looks like Halibut is going to be a problem this weekend.  We recommend you pre-order them.  The fisheries will reopen next week and the price should come back down.  Beautiful Jumbo Black Sea Bass from Massachusetts is here and we have more on the way.  Wild King Salmon is coming in again tonight; but we aren't sure if we will be getting more Sockeye.

Cape May, New Jersey has been sending us terrific U/10 and 10/20 Scallops and we expect more of the same tonight.  Monkfish is getting harder and harder to come by.  Please leave a substitute if you plan to order any.  We weren't able to track down any Mahi Mahi.  We are hopeful that we can find more, but we can't be sure.  We are sure however, that if we do find some, it will be expensive.  Beautiful and big day boat Steak Cod came in from Iceland.  These are a can't miss and have a nice low price compared to the fish from New England.  Red Grouper and Red Snapper both look fantastic coming out of Florida.  We also stocked up on 16/20 Fresh Gulf Shrimp.

7.11.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

Beautiful items showed up this morning and we have more great stuff on the way.  Local Swordfish is flawless and the price is nice and low.  Center-Cut is only $9.75/lb.  Local Tuna and Mahi Mahi came in from the same boats.  The Mahi Mahi are 7 to 20 pounds with the head on.  Sea Trout (Weakfish) showed up again from waters off the Carolinas and range from 4 to 6 pounds.  North Carolina also sent Grey Tilefish our way today.  They average about 6 pounds each.  Lump and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat are super fresh out of Maryland and Louisiana.

Cod prices in New England are through the roof.  We are opting for that gorgeous day boat Cod from Iceland we had a while back.  They range from 10 to 15 pounds with the head already off.  Most of the time they are still in rigor when they arrive.  Massachusetts Wild Striped Bass should be heading our way by Friday.  This will bring prices down.  Right now all we are carrying are Long Island and Maryland fish.  Beautiful large Hake and Pollock both came in this morning.

Tomorrow is our weekly delivery of those beautiful Sardines from Portugal.  Don't miss out.  They tend to fly out of here.  Wild King Salmon from California look gorgeous.  Sockeye Salmon from Alaska are averaging about 5 pounds each and also look lovely.

Florida is sending the usual suspects our way overnight.  We are expecting to receive 5 to 10 pound Red Grouper that are always consistent.  Red Snappers finally appear to be getting back on track and we should see them in all sizes tomorrow.  16/20 Fresh Gulf Shrimp are always flawless and are set to arrive overnight as well.

It looks like Monkfish is going to be tight for a few months.  This is the time of year when the only thing available will be by-catch from Scallop boats.  Speaking of Scallops; Cape May is sending us more super fresh 10/20 and U/10's tonight.  Sea Trout (Weakfish) from waters off the Carolina's look fantastic and are between 4 and 6 pounds.  We are running a special on Center-Cut Swordfish.  The price is only $9.75.  Get it while you can, because they are sure to fly out the door.
