9.5.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

Hopefully the remnants of the hurricane that found us won't scare away diners.  Wild Striped Bass is looking good.  The quality is great and we are seeing a good number of fish coming out of New York and Maryland.  Gorgeous 2 to 4 pound Blackfish came in from Boston this morning.  Local Dory and Bluefish also look sharp.

Wild King Salmon arrived from California this morning.  The fish average about 13 pounds each.  Wild Coho Salmon are in again from Alaska.  They are catching these fish at the mouth of the river before they have a chance to spawn out.  Halibut from Nova Scotia are weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.

Items from the south are starting to trickle back in.  We aren't seeing nearly the numbers we normally do, but this is still a good sign of a quick recovery for the Gulf region.  Grouper and Red Snapper are available in limited amounts.  Golden Tilefish look great and are quite large at around 12 pounds each.  We got in 16/20 Fresh Gulf Shrimp, but are still waiting on the return of Rock Shrimp.
