Wild Edibles Newsletter 3-6-2013

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers!

Swordfish was not available today. The quality has been subpar for our customer standards. However, word from one of our local resources is that we are getting some in tomorrow morning.

Lobster prices are increasing. High demand and lack of supply are behind the latest price fluctuations. Contact your rep to discuss your options.

We have brought into our warehouse some spectacular seafood. The Jumbo Fluke, caught locally, looks stunning this morning. Fluke meat is firm and white in appearance, and it tastes delicious.

Monkfish Tails look great! The flesh is nice and opaque. It tastes sweet from its diet of squid, shellfish, and other small fish that comes across its path.

Uni Trays are available today. The Uni is the Roe of the Sea Urchin. Our Uni is harvested in Maine. You can contact us about acquiring Live Sea Urchin (East or West) if you would like to receive some on a future date.

We have plenty of Wild Striped Bass from Rhode Island in stock. We’re seeing some great prices on Cod lately. And we have plenty of Halibut from Nova Scotia available.
