2.9 update

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

It is time to stock up on everything you will need for the weekend.  And don't forget about those Valentine's Day items either.  Gorgeous Local items came in this morning.  Swordfish and Tuna arrived as expected.  We didn't get that much Tuna.  I would suggest ordering it ahead of time.  The same boat also surprised us with bright green head on Mahi Mahi.  They are about 10 pounds each.  Scallops should be no problem at all this weekend.  We have 10/20's and U/10's from New Jersey now, and more coming tonight.

Shad Roe season is starting to get underway.  We will be able to get some overnight.  East Coast and West Coast Oysters are here for the weekend with even more coming in for Valentine's Day.  We were hoping to get Nantucket Bay Scallops last night, but the quality turned out to be poor.  Our supplier is currently shucking them now and inspecting the quality.  If they look nice, we will have them for tomorrow.

We are starting to bring Dayboat Gloucester Cod back.  The Dayboats had to stop fishing for a month by law.  They typically all do this at the same time.  They are back out now and the fish are coming in steadily enough that we are comfortable using them and replacing the Icelandic Cod that got us through the stoppage.  Dayboat East Coast Halibut is in from Canada.  They were tough to come by for a while, but seem to be back up and running now.  Spanish Mackerel looks like a good choice out of Massachusetts today.  We also brought in more Jumbo Black Sea Bass from Boston.

Gorgeous Golden Tilefish from Florida is here today.  They are 7 to 9 pounds each.  We have more Redfish from Texas as well.  They are about 4 to 6 pounds each and are similar to a Red Drum.

Have a great day.
