8.23.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

The weekend is fast approaching.  We want to keep you up to date regarding Wild Striped Bass and Tuna.  We brought in some really nice Wild Striped Bass from New York.  They are not cheap.  We aren't sure how much, or if we can get more.  We still recommend leaving a substitute.  Tuna is still a concern.  A few fish showed up this morning.  We are hoping to get more tonight, but it is still going to be very limited.  Please plan accordingly.  Gloucester Cod prices appear to be stabilizing a bit.  The fish look really nice too.  U/10 and 10/20 day boat Scallops are in from New Jersey and should show up again for the weekend.

Panama has some wonderful items available.  Head off and gutted 10 to 20 pound Mahi Mahi are a can't miss.  We also have Triple Tail that range from 3 to 5 pounds and farm raised 15 pound Cobia available for pre-orders only.

We will have no Cockles or Manila Clams available this weekend.  Rain has caused closures on Cockles in New Zealand and a heatwave has forced closures on Manila's.  Our weekly delivery of Portuguese Sardines looks wonderful as expected.  Beautiful 16/20 Fresh Gulf Shrimp arrived this morning and look great.  We also have super fresh Lump and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat from our friends in Louisiana.

Day boat Halibut from waters off Nova Scotia range from 10 to 40 pounds.  Golden Tilefish is in again from Florida and will make a great substitute should Wild Striped Bass be unavailable.  Gorgeous Coho Salmon came in from Alaska.  They are catching these fish right at the mouth of the river so they aren't spawning yet.

Have a great day.
