5.8.12

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

We are excited to inform you that we will be adding another option to our Frozen Squid selection.  5/8 Domestic Tubes and Tentacles from Rhode Island.  They are the same 2.5 pound packages and come in a 50 pound case rather than 30 pounds.  Of course, we will happily open a case and send you just what you need.  We tried some out yesterday, and the quality is excellent.  Let us know what you think when you get some.  We are eager to hear from you.  Local Swordfish and Mahi Mahi are en route and will be available in the morning.  Wild Striped Bass is still a problem.  Although Massachusetts is fishing, the fish they are pulling in are too big to legally sell in New York.  We hope this clears itself up soon.  Jumbo Black Sea Bass continues to look great and the price is holding.  Dayboat Cod, though small, are terrific quality coming out of New England.

The biggest Golden Tilefish I have ever seen is here.  It is well over 30 pounds out of Florida.  We also have some nice 4 to 8 pound Grey Tile from North Carolina available.  Fresh 16/20 Gulf Shrimp are beautiful as always.  Panama is sending us Red Grouper tonight.  They are always great and should be 5 to 10 pounds each.  Cobia came in from Florida this morning and are super fresh.  They are around 15 pounds each.

Razor Clams are still available from Maine today.  Whitebait came in from the Great Lakes.  East and West Coast Halibut are available in 10 to 20 pound fish.  We are having a problem with East Coast Oysters.  Currently variety is sparse.  We have Cook's Cocktail's out of Maine, Conway Creek's also from Maine, and St. Simone's from Virginia.  We will keep you posted as to when we can get more.
