Wild Edible Seafood Update

Good Morning Chefs and Buyers,

The news going into the weekend is jumbo black seabass, we received two great shipments one from New Bedford(trap caught) the other from the outer banks in North Carolina(hook and line).  The price of the fish is coming down, hopefully it will drop much like it did last year when both areas were producing stellar fish.  Black Seabass is rated as a good alternative on the sustainability chart.  Go BSB for your weekend specials.  Montauk tile fish is large and looking great today.  East coast halibut is screaming fresh with a smell of deep ocean waters and a slick layer of slime.  Florida fisherman have been hammering red grouper the last few weeks, seems these fish are jumping into boats, they come to us in unreal conditions.

Pemaquid mussels are around for on a limited bases for the weekend, Boston Mackerel are small but lovely, Mahi is an awesome choice, and, Sea daps are around and chubby as ever.
